Charles Simeon Trust Workshops in Biblical Exposition

This year we are pleased again to announce the availability of 2 workshops –  one for men and one for women.

Men’s workshop: Preaching Romans

9 – 11 July 2024
Tuesday-Thursday
St James Church, Kenilworth

The cost is R350 and includes lunch, refreshments and all materials.

This year we will be looking at Preaching the Epistles from the book of Romans. Our speakers are:

Kevin Walker who serves as the Director of Workshops for the Charles Simeon Trust.  He also serves as the Assistant Pastor for Ministry Training at Holy Trinity Church in Chicago, Illinois.  

Chopo Mwanza serves as Pastor at Faith Baptist Church Riverside, in Kitwe, Zambia. He is also a faculty member at Central Africa Baptist University.

This workshop is for those who have responsibility for the regular public preaching ministry of the Word of God and for men preparing for that kind of ministry. It is designed to strengthen every pastor’s ability to better understand and proclaim the Word of God with the goal of strengthening every local church. In their statement of the rationale for Workshops, the Charles Simeon Trust states:

“It is our conviction that the health of the Church depends on the proclamation of God’s Word.  The spiritual health of the Church is derived from the preaching of the Scriptures through the power of the Holy Spirit by preachers and teachers who really believe the Bible to be the words of God.”

The workshop includes a combination of interactive instructional sessions, encouraging exposition, and small group workshops where every participant works through passages of Scripture and gets to present a prepared talk outline for 2 selected passages.

Women’s workshop: Teaching Old Testament History: Exodus

11 – 13 July 2024
Thursday (pm) – Saturday (mid-afternoon)
Venue: St James Church, Kenilworth

The cost is R350 and includes lunch, refreshments and all materials.

This year we will be looking at Teaching Old Testament History and focusing on the book of Exodus.

Instructions, small group work and expositions will be provided under the leadership of:

Colleen McFadden who serves as the Director of Women’s Workshops for the Charles Simeon Trust

Alyssa Walker who serves in Holy Trinity Church in Chicago, Illinois, teaching and helping develop content for the Holy Trinity Institute for Discipleship & Mission.
